"Today's world offers us more choices but ironically ,less satisfaction .This provocative and riveting book shows us steps we can take toward a more rewarding life " - David G.Myers,author of Intuition, powers and perils.

I chose this book to read because iam sort of person who'll say - do what you'd love to do,no matter how others feel about it.No such social comparison,and i like the way iam,i choose what i choose and iam happy the way iam...trying to say the ultimate meaning ,be happy with whatever you do , with whatever you are ,rather than worrying yourself by comparing a number of choice in front of you ,finally to confuse yourself and lose happiness ?.

People who wonder to choose .....anything and everything amidst the availability of abundance choice in this world , try to attain the so- called good enough or "the best ",and they are called "maximizers " by the author. He says , Who doesn't give much of priority to this abundance choice and who just chooses the one he/she wants with no second-thought,are called "Satisficers".
By reading this book, i understood the universal fact and philosophy of life,and here we go...i write in tamil ,to enjoy the very ,thought of this book-

எல்லாவற்றிலும் நிறைய நிறைய தெரிவுகள் இருக்க ,எதைத் தேர்வு செய்ய என்ற குழப்பத்தில் நாம் அனைவரும் இன்று,மனோ ரீதியாக பாதிக்கப்படும் உண்மை என்னவென்றால்...

எதிலும் த்யானம் அற்று,எதையும் முடிவெடுக்க முடியாத ஒரு நிலை உருவாகி,முடிவில்,மனச்சோர்வும் மகிழ்ச்சியின்மையும் நிறைவாய்ப் பெறுவதுதான்.

எங்குசென்றாலும் ச்சாய்ஸ் .

எல்லாமும் இருந்தும் யாதும் அற்ற நிலை.
எதைக்கொடுத்தாலும் யாதெடுப்பதென்ற நிலை .
இதைஎடுத்தேன் இன்புற்றேன் என்றில்லாமல்,
இது,அது,எது, இல்லை இல்லை
இவள் , அவள் , யாரவள் ...
எல்லாமும் குழப்பமாய்,
எல்லாரையும் குழப்பி ,நானும் குழம்பி .....
என்ன இது...வாழ்வு சலிக்கும் முன்...

Tokyo Teachings

I believe most of the foreigners enjoy listening to Gaijin Invasion’s song ,Adam and Joe go to Tokyo and Teriyaki boyz’ Tokyo Drift Songs..especially the fast and furious …TICK TICK TICK.No wonder I am a big fan too.I’ve really wondered ,if u know how they live in Tokyo !
The fast and furious world with strangers all around,my first day in Japan ,was so interesting .
I got lost in its beauty of humane thoughts overwhelming right from a kid to an elderly grandma in Japan.I was just wondering about people bending and bowing till the knee for everything with a gratitude and smile on the face,saying ” Doamo Arigathoo Gozaimasu “ & “Yuroshiku onigaishimasu.”
“Wakarimasen,” though I was not sure about what they were telling ….
I happened to learn and enjoy the warm greetings of People here.
Thankyou and Please, ofcourse a single word which we often forget to say…but Doamo Arigathoo Gozaimasu & Yuroshiku onigaishimasu is heard all over Japan which is to be truly appreciated .Not only this but also the energetic charm in the people who don’t hesitate anytime to bow for a thankyou and please ,is a great lesson to be practiced and preached world wide.

A stranger is a friend whom we are yet to meet and I understood this after visiting Tokyo.

திடம்

உறுதி என்பது
உடலில் மட்டும் தானா ?
மனதளவில் ,
தொட்டால் சுருங்கிவிடும்
இலைகள் போல,
இரண்டு எழுத்துச்சொல்தான் ,
ஆண்.


திறம்

கைதேர்ந்த கலைதான்
பெண்களின் அழுகை.
வருத்தங்களை
வெளிப்படுத்த

அறிவைக்கூட அளவோடு பயன்படுத்தும்
நான்,
ஆண்டவனோடும் அறிவு செலுத்தவேண்டும் என,
அவர்.
மிகவும் அழகாய் இருத்தல் ஆபத்தென்பேன்,
நான்,
மிக்க அழகு மனிதனின் ஆயுதமன்றோ என்பார்
அவர்.
மன உளைச்சலானால் , நேரம் முக்கியம் அல்ல என
நான்,
மண்டை உடைந்தாலும் நேரம் தவறக்கூடாதென
அவர்.
பிடித்தவை யாவும் ரசித்து ருசிக்கும்
நான்,
பிடித்ததே ஆயினும் ருசிக்கு மயங்கக்கூடாது என
அவர்.
அழுகையும் காதலும் அடைக்க முடியாது என
நான்,
காதலால் கூட கண்ணீர்வடிக்க கூடாதென
அவர்.
இப்படிப் பல வேறுபற்ற எண்ணங்களோடு
நானும் அவரும்,

இல்லறம் இனிமை எனவும் முடியாமல்,

இன்னல் என்றுரைக்கவும் மனமில்லாமல்,

அவ்வப்போது ஓர் நெருடலும் அதன் ஓடே

என்றும் பிரியவேண்டாத நெருக்கமும்,

திருமணத்திற்கு பிறகுதான் யோசிக்கிறேன்

நிதமும் உன்னைப்பற்றி.

அம்மா, உன் பொறுமை,

எனக்கும் கொஞ்சம் கொடுக்கச் சொல்லி ,

After coming to Japan.......A letter to my friend who is in USA ..

Hi Dear,
Hope u're doing gud.Japan is too fast and people* are faster...crazy punctual and workaholic here...Punctual means really crazy punctual which i admired here.None of the buses,trains are delayed.It's always on time and the people too.
For quite some days in the beginning my hubby was reaching home around 6.30 in the eve,to please me and make me feel at home &comfortable as I was new to this life here. However he started coming home only around 9pm nowadays as he b'came busy ,& his privilege of newly married is gone and he has to work hard.Rather its a must that ppl* work for 12 to 13 hours a day.
The beauty is about the sun rise.Hope u'have heard Sun rises first in Japan.Wonder wat time...everyday at 3.45 or 4am...(summer now)its so bright that the light of the sun falls on our face (however we make up the room)and we have no other go .....than to lose sleep.Sun sets around 7pm or 7.30 now as its summer here.
Regarding outing...I jus went with him to the nearby places like Yokohoma, Kamakura , Utsunomiya ,Asakusa ,Kujukuri etc..to the nearby parks and beaches around.We are planning to go to Mount Fuji,along with a few friends here.Not yet decided abt the date and time.
I gotta friend request through our social networking site - Indian lady in Japan,who is a coimbatorian , our school mate,junior to us whom i didn't know all these days.We went to her house for a lunch and they also visited ....We just got settled here after all parties and now its to time reciprocate by inviting all friends here to our home ...to relish the Indian Food I cook..!! (GOD save them ).Many of his Japanese friends are awaiting to taste our Indian food.These ppl* are born to eat... and thats how they eat !
My language knowledge here is still in a pathetic condition...have to improve myself a lot in learning Japanese.The intonation and sound patterns make me feel as though m a cartoon.Sometimes I feel this language is so weird ...& sometimes its interesting. They say "Doomo Arigathoo Gozaimasu" for everything--which means Thank You..The greetings like goodmorning good afternoon காலை வணக்கம் மாலை வணக்கம் all has a common word say (good in english & vanakkam in tamil)They have no common word, like in english or tamil...Here its Ohayo Gozaimas for good morning and Oyasumi Nasai for goodinght.knw wat ? Good afternoon is Konnichi Wa and Good Evening is Konban wa. Hello is also Konnichi wa .. Some station names are more weird ..say Toyocho..Kayabacho etc..அச்சோ அச்சோ .....................ஏன் கேட்கற ?.............நான் தமிழ் English கன்னடம் போக இப்போ Japanese English எல்லாம் செய்த கலவைல ஒரு Junglish language ல இருக்கேன்.
Apart from these ,,, Tokyo is damn richest and ppl spend a lOt on food,dress etc..etc..cos its summer now,everywhere fireworks are going on...Adults and Kids enjoying burning crackers in the parks and grounds..namma oor busvaanam..kambi mathaapau ellaam bayangara sale.(don't think its available here during our real diwali season like oct/nov) .
The groceries i buy here is again too expensive.So at times we ask our parents to send the items necessary .Believe i Bought கறிவேப்பிலை கொத்தமல்லி for 500 yen..Two hundreds INR value .The Indian groceries here earn a lot !
Alright..lets leave all those household....
The wind blows like anything with a "bayangara" sound ...cyclonic wind most of the times even in this "cloudysummer"...that I lost a couple of of my favourite dress ..my clothes which i had clipped and dried after washing !
Apart from these I have always wondered how the shortest ppl* on this earth could have built the tallest buildings here !
Its really amazing if u chk* out the buildings here,the transport bridges, metro etc..etc..We have metros here, all in & around Japan..public transport is really amazing,they have digged the whole of japan for the cause of subway trains.Monorails are common here,where there is no driver at all...its jus an automatic train which people rely on...the ticket vendors,kiosks and machines everywhere...sometimes i feel ike a robot here...cos communication is more with the machines...highly amazing technologies all around.
There are bullet trains that goes speeder and faster called shinkansen..however,travel fare is more than air fare!...ppl are crazy punctual here...the buses, taxis, trains, everything works on time..We have a lot here ,for sightseeing...for the first 3 months we were totally engaged in wedding parties and visiting friends place.Now ,we find time a little by little in week ends to go out...We have a four season ,Weather ...now its summer and pretty hot.
It was nice to experience earthquake here in our house...about 6.9 scale...if it was in INDIA..we would have been dead and gone..but here the buildings are built in such a way,whenever there's a quake the whole building tilt towards left and right like a pendulum and sits back again.I was scared for the first time..but my hubby said its jus like a changing weather..and happens very often...The beaches ,the parks , shrines ,fireworks , everything is beautiful,safe and beautiful, more things...and am yet to explore...
About the food,people eat raw fish here..called sushi and they say its "oyishi"...means delicious...! Japanese food is one thing i wonder.... how people eat like this...they are born to eat..and they keep eating...Drinks too, no where we can find a person here drinking water.Green tea, and beer is wat* they drink...morning ,afternoon evening and night...! Still hale and healthy.
Knw wat * a lot of cycles all around...people keep cycling wherever they go...can't differentiate the age between young and old..all alike...!!! old ladies around 80 years work so hard as though they are 18.
It's gud to be in a new place and learn new things, yet everytime i enjoy a great thing here ,i think of our land .....far ahead to improve...I pray wen would India be like this ?
Its so hurting cos Indian rupees has no value in International airports..I happened to look at it in the Narita Airport here ,the foreign exchange currency rates and difference is mentioned for many nations except India.
M not sure ...When is India gonna bloom like this...The roadways, railways, airways, shipments, environment,education,economy,government and ppl.*...................................................all under corruption !
nothing much...though enjoying my married life with common factors of fights and warm hugs ,m always missing my mom, home,and friends .....

Hi Raajiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...

This is the first time i've recieved a mail that is so explanatory and with so much detail - from a friend.Usually we share all such stories thru phone or chat... but noone in this fast paced world bothers to write so much...Thanks for taking ur time to write such a detailed mail.. i had this habit ( but not upto ur level ! ) of writing long mails , but since the response will be very less in writing, i don write tat much nowadays... i'm so glad to receive ur mail....i realy liked the way u 've explained too.... y dont u start a blog... u have all the qualities to become a blogger..எத முதல்ல எழுதறது னு தெரியல .. அவ்ளோ விஷயம் விளக்கி இருக்க...so i'll write according to ur order itself...... Hubby comes late from office - wat do u do till tat time??? wat??? sunrise by 4 am???? My god..... eppidi maa anga thoongureenga?? 4 am to 7 pm... days are really long.....here morning 6 i think !!!! ( oru naal kooda adha paarthadhilla !!!)my hubby goes to office by 7.45 am .. so i will get up by 7 only..but here sunsets by 9pm only... ada chea.. ellam onnu thaano?? (unakum enakum) parties ellam mudinjaacha?? hmmmm.. now ur turn.. how do u cook? nejama sollu. ur explanation abt the japanese language is really funny.... especially, rhyming ah அச்சோ அச்சோ னு சொன்ன பாத்தியா .. சூப்பர் .....ama, unaku kannadam theriyuma? hey.. கறிவேப்பிலை இங்க கூட விலை ஜாஸ்தி தான்.. 2$ - 100 rs..நான் கறிவேப்பிலை, சின்ன வெங்காயம் இதெல்லாம் சமையல் ல use பண்றதே இல்ல .....ரொம்ப காஸ்ட்லி.. கொத்தமல்லி தழை இங்க cilantro ngara perla american grocery la கிடைக்குது ... அப்படியா ! அவ்ளோ காத்தா அடிக்குது ?? ட்ரெஸ் பறந்து போகற அளவுக்கு ? ஹ்ம்ம் ... Really amazing to hear abt the subrails - where there is no driver at all.. and i've heard abt the bullet trains which will be very fast - i 've also heard tat they dont touch the ground.. ie they will be slightly above the rails.. literally flying.. is tat true?? என்னது earthquake experience பண்ணியா?????என்னம்மா இவ்ளோ ஜாலியா சொல்ற ???ஒன்னும் பயம் இல்லியா ? கேட்டாலே பயமா இருக்கு ... i've also heard abt the raw fish thing sushi ....i wanted to ask u..wat do u eat out and where?do u eat japanese food? or r there indian restaurants available?bcoz i've gone thru tat experience..here many indian rest's are there... but நம்ம ஊரு சாப்பாடு , நல்ல காரமா இங்க செய்ய மாட்டேன்கரங்க..எல்லாம் north indian rest's... SPICY nu சொன்னா மிளகாய் தண்ணிய ஊத்தி கொண்டாந்தர்றாங்க ...என்ன பண்றது ??? so nowadays if we go out , we eat at American, Mexican , Chinese rest only... Atleast vera try panna mahitriyavadhu irukum... எல்லாம் explain பண்ணிட்டு கடைசில ANNIYAN , INDIAN, GENTLEMAN rangeku ஊழல் பத்தி பேசிட்ட ...
